Judging Standards

It is the intent of the Federation of Northwest Dahlia Growers to prepare dahlia judges in a well-rounded course in all phases of dahlia judging. The requirements for the advancement of judges from candidate to accredited to senior status are specific.

Judges entering this program will be eligible for pro-rated credit for coursework and experience earned under other recognized dahlia-judging programs.

Each participating judge is responsible for completing and returning record forms to the Federation evaluation chair at the conclusion of each show season. Credit toward advancement will not be given unless proper paperwork is returned.

The Federation of Northwest Dahlia Growers has developed the following specialty scoresheets to maintain consistency throughout all Federation shows. One of the goals of the Federation is to foster judging consistency and quality. Other dahlia organizations are welcome to adopt these tools with attribution to the Federation of Northwest Dahlia Growers.
